Christmas and Dieting do NOT go hand in hand!

December, hands down, must be the worst month ever to contemplate dieting.
I've tried it many times, and the results have all failed, now my method involves just cutting down and out of the crap (captain obvious!).

Simple enough? Your having a giraffe!

December involves the intense passive persuasion of mince pie munching, treating yourself to more than 'the-odd-one' takeaway and being shot down by every form of chocolate consumption: Hot chocolate drinks for the cold winter evenings, little chocolate treats in your advent calenders, big tins of chocolates to have around the house for guests (Ha! yea.. for the guests.. *munch*) and the average little chocolate indulgences: Chocolate milkshakes, chocolate cakes, choc chip cookies... it's madness I tell you! MADNESS!

...Yea...

But what is it that makes us crave so much crap in the winter? Are we feeling like animals preparing to hibernate? If so, we're a little late!
Do we feel like we should be eating all these 'seasonal' indulgences just because it's Christmas? That it's some form of unconscious 'peer-pressure' - if everyone's doing it, so shall I! Maybe we feel like we need to treat ourselves from the all-year-round dieting and weight watching, that we can let loose in December because we deserve it. Or maybe it's a way of 'cheering' us up in the miserable, cold, dark mornings and the early cold, dark nights that make us feel like comfort eating.

Who knows?!

So, planning to take it easy and lay low until the season passes, then look out fruit and flavourless salads, ima coming!
